This is my first Bible in a year, I jumped in in October of last year and haven’t skipped or stopped since. There’s a very short reflection each day on one of the verses for that day and a 2-3 sentence prayer. It’s an easy daily reading assignment, accomplished in full in about 10 minutes. I’ve actually enjoyed the Torah months the best, plodding thru Israel’s troubles and rebellions are a sort of visceral learning experience as it takes months to fully witness how difficult it was for them to repent and forget, repent and forget, rinse and repeat, until even the LORD couldn’t stand it anymore! Selwyn Hughes has some amazing commentary to go with it, also. He seems to understand the emotional and mental trauma so many of us struggle with In This modern era. Just begin on whatever day this is, and then forget to quit. You will enjoy reading the Bible this way, even if you aren’t a Christian.
